Members,

The spring meeting for the Hydrographic Services Review Panel (HSRP) a Federal Advisory Committee for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will be hosted virtually on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 1230 hours Central Time to 1730 hours Central Time.

As the Chairman for this important Federal Advisory Committee, I strongly encourage users of NOAA’s navigation focused data to attend and provide comments or feedback to NOAA staff or to the members of the HSRP Panel.

The attached agenda offers more details including a link to pre-register to attend the online Virtual Public Meeting and to provide comments to NOAA directly.

The details below are reproduced from the recent announcement from NOAA confirming the date, time, and agenda with ample opportunity for public input along with the attachment.

Navigation industry representatives utilize a wide myriad of services from the collective NOAA, including the National Weather Service – Lower Mississippi River Forecast Center, Coast Survey and the Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services’ Physical Oceanographic Real-Time System (PORTS) to both reduce and be better prepared for the climatic and hydrographic challenges at the time of transits or voyages.

As a reminder:
Because this is a fully virtual meeting, we have a great opportunity to increase engagement with stakeholders across the country. When the meeting is officially scheduled, we will request that you share information about the meeting broadly within your networks. We have extended the public comment period to allow for increased participation from stakeholders, and we welcome public comment both in written form in advance of the meeting and live participation through the webinar.

Presentation Guidance:

8-10 minute presentations inclusive of time for questions and discussion - presentations could include the following:

· Hot / Emerging Topics or Trends in the field

· If NOAA is engaged in those topics, what is NOAA's value add? What are some real-life examples of the benefits that NOAA provides? What would industry lose if NOAA were to scale back engagement?

· If NOAA is not engaged, what is industry missing out on? How could NOAA engagement better support industry?

· While keeping realistic expectations in mind, what recommendations do you have?

Deadline for presentations is COB Tuesday, May 27th

Proposed Teams:
Please organize yourselves and work within these groups to develop your presentations, framing your presentation above the guiding questions above. Due to limited bandwidth, HSRP staff support for facilitating presentation development will be minimal, and we appreciate your initiative to develop these presentations. As always, we are here to answer any questions you may have.
