...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH 7 AM SUNDAY MORNING...     

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall. 

* WHERE...All of southeastern Louisiana and southern Mississippi.       

* WHEN...Through 7 AM Sunday morning.   

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of low-lying and    

  flood-prone locations, especially in poor drainage and urban  

  areas. Several roads may become impassable due to flooding in the     

  areas that receive heaviest rainfall. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... 

  - Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to increase        

    in coverage later this afternoon. Some storms will likely be        

    slow moving or even stationary, resulting in a prolonged    

    period of high rainfall rates. These slow-moving storms could       

    result in localized rainfall totals of 5 to 7 inches or more        

    through tonight.
